Ballad on this century
June 1st, 2009 meWhy are all my friends on Facebook,
Why are all my Pics online?
Is it just because of twitter,
My real life seems to lose its shine?
Why do I now begin to wonder,
After years behind a screen,
That my every single footstep
Online never goes unseen?
Is it ’cause we never bother,
To ask where that’s all leading to?
It think our century’s just different,
Much more online, less me and you…
Me and You!
Why does google keep our data?
Do they want to profile us,
Find a criminal by keywords,
Then early stop him’s what you must.
Is it good to censor pages?
Why should people see bad porn?
Is now China the right answer,
To how a government should scorn?
I find myself right in the middle,
Read my chat history to you.
I know our century’s just different,
So much more online, less me and you!
Less Me and you…
Have you ever asked the question,
What value all your data is?
Your job will then depend on Facebook,
Just like your marriage and your kids.
Is it good to walk this way then?
Some say they simply do not mind.
So i think that’s the real question,
Go with it or fall behind.
I kiss your hair while I still wonder,
Will tomorrows’ lovers still touch lips?
Or if our century’s just different,
Our life on microchips.
If it’s a dream or just a nightmare,
That’s not scifi, it is true.
Life will be just what we make it,
It depends on me and you!
On me and you!
…
Me and You!
